FIRE TUBE BOILERS- WETBACK & DRYBACK

Boiler is a closed vessel that is used to produce steam at desired pressure. There is a reversal chamber for flue gases between 1st & 2nd pass is provided inside the boiler shell, Based on this reversal chamber boilers are differentiated into Wetback and Dry-back.
In dryback boiler rear wall is lined with refractory. In dryback boiler reversal chamber has a rear wall that is lined with refractory, which passes combustion gasses from the furnace to multiple tube sheets and resulting in radiation losses. The dry back boiler design uses a common rear tube sheet and features convenient fire-side and water-side access. Dryback boilers also require regular refractory and tube sheet inspection, which can be costly maintenance items.
Wetback boiler designs have a water gap between the furnace and back wall, Hence the radiation losses due to refractory lined reversal chamber in the back end smoke box are eliminated as the complete heat of the furnace is transferred to the water inside the shell. This increases the efficiency and reduces maintenance & break-down costs of boiler. The water jacket eliminates the need for a refractory wall and costly refractory maintenance.
Ofcource there are deference in terms of no of passes, will be differentiated some other time. Email me for more details: www.versolgroup.com

CORROSSION- Cannot be neglected in Heating /Boiler System

What is Corrosion?-  Oxidation is the reason for Corrosion. Oxygen content in the water or air in the system reacts with metal to form oxides which eat up the body resulting in formation of Cavities and holes. A.      Corrosion in Boilers A1. Reasons for Corrosion in Boilers ·        Improper and unscheduled maintenance in the system Timely maintenance is required to prevent the corrosion in Boilers and Hot Water Systems ·        Non treated Feed Water in Boiler System If the feed water is not treated, removed oxygen from the water will accelerate corrosion ·        Oxygen or Carbon Dioxide present in Water ·        Unbalanced pH- Water Shall be maintained Ph value as recommended Periodic maintenance and Water treatment is essential to control corrosion in Boilers B. ...

Renewable energy Solutions for Water Heating

There are a number of ways you can generate your own energy at home from low or zero carbon ‘micro generation’ technology. Making your own energy, instead of using mains gas and electricity, will reduce your carbon footprint. Solar Panels Solar panels harness the power of sunlight to heat your home and hot water . An in-house display will allow you to see when energy is being generated, enabling you to make the most of the free power - for example, by running your washing machine at these times. Any extra energy you generate but don't use will be sent to the National Grid, which you'll get paid for. But there are a lot of factors to consider, such as the cost of the installation, and whether your home is in the best position to harness the power of sunlight. Solar thermal panels generate heat. Solar photovoltaics (PV) generate electricity. Wood-burning stoves Wood-burning stoves aren't cheap to install, but the heat a stove generates can mean you don't hav...
